The project deals with the phenomenon of physical activities becoming redundant through technologization and digitization.

Using a collection of German metaphors such as “Im Trüben fischen” (search in unknown environment), “Aus dem Stegreif” (to improvise sth.), or “Etwas anzetteln” (to incite sth.), the project reveals an excerpt of cultural techniques with which people have physically experienced and understood the world over the last two thousand years of western cultural history.

The collection is complemented by animated loops on selected metaphors, which can be played and experienced “physically” through analog apparatuses.
